What a day to remember.
On Friday 31 July, community members joined us at Pendleton Gateway for our Love Your Heart Cardiovascular Disease Awareness Session. The afternoon brought people together to learn more about heart and circulatory health, understand the importance of knowing their numbers, and discover practical ways to protect their wellbeing.
A very special thank you to our guest speaker, Mimie Bakisa, for delivering an informative and engaging presentation. Her knowledge, clear explanations and thoughtful answers helped make the session both accessible and valuable. We hope everyone left with information that could help them protect their own health and support the people around them.
The event also included opportunities for discussion, light exercise, healthy refreshments and blood pressure checks. It was encouraging to see so many people actively participating, asking questions and taking positive steps towards better health.
We are extremely grateful to our dedicated volunteers, whose hard work supported every stage of the event, from planning and preparation to welcoming attendees and delivering the workshop. Your time, energy and commitment made the day possible.
