Know Your Numbers: Cardiovascular Disease Training at Broughton Hub

Community Upskilling attended Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) training at Broughton Hub, delivered by Salford CVS.

The session was a valuable opportunity to learn more about heart health, blood pressure and the importance of knowing our numbers. We explored how high blood pressure can increase the risk of serious health problems, including stroke, known as AVC in French.

It was eye-opening to learn that many people may be living with high blood pressure without knowing it. We also discussed the impact of cardiovascular disease across the UK, including how it contributes to a significant number of deaths each year.

The practical part of the session helped participants understand how blood pressure is measured and why regular checks are important. Learning about prevention, lifestyle changes and early action can make a real difference in our communities.

A big thank you to Salford CVS for delivering this important training and to everyone who took part.
