Community Upskilling was pleased to attend the Refugee Welcome Programme conference in Manchester as part of Refugee Week.

It was an insightful and inspiring event, bringing partners and communities together to reflect on what has been achieved during the first year of the Refugee Welcome Programme, and to look ahead to what comes next in year two.
The day created space for meaningful conversations, shared learning and connection across the system. We heard powerful experiences from people who have benefited from the programme, including learners who took part in Train to TEFL ESOL. Their stories reminded us why this work matters and how important it is to continue creating opportunities for refugees and people seeking asylum to build confidence, skills and belonging.
At Community Upskilling, we are proud to be part of this wider partnership, supporting our community through English, digital skills, employability, confidence-building and integration.
A big thank you to GMCA and all the partners working together to make this programme possible, including:
- Salford ESOL
- Salford Loaves and Fishes
- Speak and Belong
- Salford City Council
