Men’s wellbeing matters to us at Salford Community Upskilling and to our partners at Salford CVS.

On Saturday 11 July 2026, community members gathered at Holm Court for a relaxed summer board games social. It was a welcome opportunity to escape the heat, enjoy cold drinks and fresh fruit, and spend time with people who care.

From competitive Scrabble rounds to fast-paced games of Uno, the afternoon was filled with laughter, friendly conversation and plenty of concentration. The games also provided an enjoyable way for participants to practise English, build their vocabulary and learn from one another.

Most importantly, the event created a welcoming space where people could socialise, make new connections and support their wellbeing. Simple activities like sharing refreshments and playing games together can help reduce isolation and strengthen our sense of community.
