This is the story of a lady called NA.
NA is from Sudan and has been with us since 2024, after joining us through Salford Loaves and Fishes. When she first came to us, she had limited English, very basic digital skills and lacked confidence in herself.
We registered NA on Learn My Way, a digital skills platform from Good Things Foundation, where she began learning everyday basic digital skills. She also took part in our Refugee Welcome Programme pilot project in 2025, alongside our Talk English Café with Salford ESOL and GM. In addition, she joined our Stress Relief programme, supported by The National Lottery Community Fund.
Over time, NA has built her confidence in English, improved her digital skills and strengthened her wellbeing. Thanks to the support she received, NA has now secured a care job and is working five days a week.
She recently came to visit us and brought sweets to show her appreciation. She told us how happy she is and how grateful she feels for all the support she has received.
Our joy is to see people progress, fulfil their dreams, become part of the community and feel a true sense of belonging.
Well done, NA. You are amazing and should be very proud of yourself.
