Social, Financial and Environmental Values in Action

At Community Upskilling, we are proud to see social, financial and environmental values working together to make a real difference.

Through the generous support of Lidl GB and Neighbourly, we are able to redistribute surplus food that might otherwise go to waste. Fresh fruit and vegetables, bakery items, breakfast essentials and other groceries can help ease pressure on household budgets at a time when the cost of living continues to affect many people in our community.

This support is about more than food. It helps people feel supported, reduces waste and encourages a more sustainable approach to caring for our community and environment.

We are especially pleased that this work benefits local people, including asylum seekers and refugees, alongside the wider community we serve. By working together, we can provide practical support while helping people build confidence, connection and a stronger sense of belonging.

Thank you to Lidl GB and Neighbourly for helping us turn food surplus into meaningful support for our community.

We are also deeply grateful to our valued partners:

  • Asda Foundation
  • Forever Manchester
  • Auto Trader
  • Salford ESOL
  • Salford City Council
  • Postcode Lottery UK
  • Salford CVS
  • Pendleton Together

Your continued support helps Community Upskilling create positive opportunities and strengthen our community.
