Community Upskilling at the Refugee Welcome Programme Partnership Event

Community Upskilling attended the Refugee Welcome Programme Partnership Event, a powerful gathering focused on strengthening support for refugees and asylum seekers across Greater Manchester.

It was a valuable opportunity to meet, listen, share ideas and connect with organisations who are working hard to support people as they rebuild their lives, learn new skills and feel part of their local communities.

We were very pleased to catch up with our brilliant Salford team and partners, including:

  • Salford ESOL
  • Salford Work and Skills
  • Salford Loaves and Fishes

Working together makes our community network stronger. Partnership is so important in making sure refugees, asylum seekers and local residents can access English language support, digital skills, employability opportunities, wellbeing activities and a welcoming space to belong.

After a full day at the event, we headed straight back to host a packed Conversation Club. The room was full of great conversations, English practice, confidence-building and community spirit.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making the day meaningful. We are proud to be part of a wider partnership that supports welcome, inclusion and opportunity for all.
