A Night to Remember: Celebrating Community at the Forever Manchester Birthday Party

What an incredible evening!

Last Friday, 6th February 2026, the Salford Community Upskilling team had the absolute pleasure of attending Forever Manchester’s 36th Birthday Party. It was a night filled with glitz, glamour, and, most importantly, a resounding sense of community spirit.

As many of you know, we were over the moon to be shortlisted in the ‘Forever Futures’ category. This award recognises groups that share skills and knowledge to promote lifelong learning—something that is the very heartbeat of our work here in Salford.

Celebrating the Winners

While we didn’t take home the trophy this time, we want to say a massive congratulations to the worthy winners of our category, Masking in the Middle. Learning about their work supporting neurodiverse children and their families was truly inspiring, and they thoroughly deserved the accolade. Well done, guys!

To be named as a finalist alongside such impactful groups was an honour in itself. It serves as a wonderful validation that the work we do—providing English language courses, ICT training, and employability workshops for asylum seekers and refugees—is making a real difference in Greater Manchester.

Thank You

We want to extend a huge thank you to Forever Manchester for organising such a spectacular event and for their tireless support of grassroots community groups like ours. You make our ideas possible and realisable.

Thank you also to the sponsors who made the night possible, and to everyone who has sent us messages of support.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to our own volunteers and participants. Being shortlisted for this award belongs to you. It is your hard work, dedication, and eagerness to learn and integrate that put Salford Community Upskilling on that shortlist.

Here is to another year of learning, growing, and supporting our community!
