What an incredible turnout we had last Friday! The energy at Pendleton Gateway was absolutely electric as we welcomed students old and new to our English language sessions.
With the support of Salford City Council, Salford ESOL, and Forever Manchester, we hosted two distinct sessions, and we are thrilled to report that both the AM and PM classes were very busy!
A Full House for Learning
Our classroom in Community Room 2 was packed with enthusiastic learners. It was wonderful to see such a diverse group of people coming together with a shared goal: to improve their English skills and build a brighter future.
- Morning Session: We kicked off the day focusing on our “Bright Futures” initiative. This session is particularly special as it helps support those who are looking to get back into education, employment, or training (NEET).
- Afternoon Session: From 1 pm to 3 pm, the energy continued with “Talk English with Yolande.” The group dove deep into pronunciation, spelling, writing, vocabulary, and grammar.

Community and Connection
As you can see from the photos, it wasn’t just about textbooks and whiteboards. We made sure to keep everyone fueled with plenty of healthy fruit snacks, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. It was heartwarming to see students engaging in conversation, taking notes, and supporting one another’s learning journey.
A Big Thank You
These sessions are vital for our community, and they wouldn’t be possible without our amazing partners. A huge thank you to Salford City Council and Salford ESOL for their continued collaboration, and to Forever Manchester for the funding that keeps these free lessons running.
