Honouring Our Communities with Langworthy Cornerstone

We recently ran a stall at Honouring Our Communities with Langworthy Cornerstone in Salford. It was a busy, welcoming event, full of great conversations and new connections.

Meeting our community

Our team, in their Community Upskilling t-shirts, spent the day talking with visitors and sharing information about our work. We met local residents, families and fellow organisations, and it was a pleasure to see so many people stopping by our table to ask questions and pick up leaflets.

Our stall was there for anyone facing language barriers or digital exclusion, or feeling lonely or isolated. We shared information about the support we offer, including:

Tackling digital exclusion together

At Community Upskilling we never miss a chance to help break down digital exclusion. Today, much of everyday life happens online: finding work, accessing healthcare, keeping in touch with family and getting to public services. People without the right skills, devices or connection risk being left behind.

That is why we also had SIM cards on hand to help people get connected, alongside information about how we can support them to build their digital skills and confidence.

The power of partnership

No single organisation can tackle digital exclusion alone, and partnership working is at the heart of what we do. Through our English language and ICT courses, interpreting and employability support, we help our community, including asylum seekers and refugees, gain the skills, knowledge and confidence to take part fully in society. Together we are stronger.

Thank you

Thank you to Langworthy Cornerstone for having us, and to everyone who came along and spoke with us.

Special thanks to our partners and supporters:
