Influencing policies through research and community voice.

We had a meaningful focus group discussing our experiences after successful asylum applications, sharing real stories, challenges, reflections and ideas on what support is needed after receiving a positive decision.
These conversations matter. They help ensure that the voices of people with lived experience are heard, valued and included when services and policies are being shaped. Thank you to everyone who contributed openly and honestly.
It was a long but powerful day for us, as we also attended The Taste of Africa event and enjoyed a delicious meal prepared for us by Perleco Perle. It was a lovely opportunity to connect, reflect and celebrate community together.
At Community Upskilling, we believe that lived experience is knowledge, and knowledge can help create positive change.
