The new year has officially begun, and we are delighted to report that 2026 has started exceptionally well at the service of our community!
At Salford Community Upskilling, we hit the ground running. The atmosphere in the centre has been buzzing with energy, creativity, and mutual support. From the quiet concentration of our English assessments to the laughter shared over fabric and thread, it is clear that this year is going to be one of growth and connection.
Creativity and Wellness
Our art and wellness sessions are in full swing. It has been wonderful to see our members gathered around the table, working together on sewing projects and doll-making. These sessions are about so much more than just threading a needle; they are a vital space for mental wellness, building fine motor skills, and simply enjoying the company of friends.
Nourishing the Community
We were also “at the rendezvous” regarding essential support. Thanks to our incredible partners, we have been able to distribute significant food donations. The crates of fresh vegetables and fruit—from peppers to grapes—have gone directly to families who need them most, ensuring that our community stays healthy and fed during these winter months.
A Massive Thank You
None of this would be possible without the collaborative spirit of Salford. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the organisations that stand by us and enable this work:
- Salford City Council
- Salford CVS
- Neighbourly
- Forever Manchester
- Good Things Foundation
- Salford Loaves and Fishes
- Lidl GB
- Aldi UK
- Pendleton Together
- ForHousing Salford
Here is to a fantastic 2026 together!
