English Assessment Day Recap: A Day of Learning, Connectivity, and Community Support

What a fantastic turnout we had!

At Salford Community Upskilling, we believe that integration isn’t just about language—it’s about supporting the whole person. Our English Assessment day event at Pendleton Gateway was a shining example of exactly that. We didn’t just assess English levels; we connected, nourished, and empowered our community.

Finding Our Voice

The core of the day was, of course, the English Assessment Test. It was inspiring to see so many new and familiar faces eager to take the next step in their learning journey.

From Pre-Entry beginners starting their path to Level 2 advanced communicators, attendees worked through assessments to understand their current skills. Knowing your level—whether you are an Entry 3 Confident Speaker or working on Everyday Conversation—is the first crucial step toward employment and social integration.

Digital Inclusion

We know that in today’s world, being connected is a necessity, not a luxury. Thanks to our partnerships, we were thrilled to distribute free SIM cards loaded with data to eligible attendees. This ensures that our students can keep learning online, stay in touch with loved ones, and access vital services.

Nourishing the Community

We firmly believe that no one in our community should go hungry. The smiles in the room were even brighter thanks to the generous support from Neighbourly, Aldi UK, and Lidl GB.

Every person who attended the assessment left with a bag of quality food—from fresh British apples and vegetables to treats like ice cream and bao buns. It was a joy to send everyone home not just with a study plan, but with a full bag of groceries.

Moving Forward Together

Thank you to everyone who came down, took a test, and shared a smile with us. We are grateful to you! 😊
